Build consistency with the #262squad program

Over the years, one of the things I have found to be the most important and most challenging as a runner is to develop and maintain consistency on a weekly basis. I have seen a direct correlation between my workout consistency (or lack thereof) and the results of my races. When I have been inconsistent with my training plans, the race results have reflected it in disappointing finish times and experiences. When I have kept up with the bulk of scheduled workouts, my race days have been quite positive, resulting in not just my best marks but also in enjoyable experiences in which I was able to deliver strong effort and performance all the way to the finish line. In order to find that consistency, it is paramount to have and follow a plan for your target race. You can do this a number of ways, such as through plans provided by a running club or by a coach, or also those found on the internet. There is now also a great digital alternative to do this with the Aftershokz #262squad Marathon Training Program in the Motigo application.


With the #262squad Motigo program you have access to an 18-week beginner-level plan that was created by RunWestin Concierge Chris Heusler with the goal to help you achieve that consistency through four guided runs per week. The app utilizes your phone's GPS to track your run and send you audio tips at key points of the most challenging workouts of each week, such as the tempo run or the long run. Some of the key points will be, for example, the end of the first warmup mile, to remind you to pick up your speed to target race pace for the next two miles, or at the start of the last time to remind you to slow down to make it your cool-down phase of the workout.


I feel that these tips are great and provide an important push for following and completing the workouts as close as possible, something which, as I stated earlier, is key to establishing consistency and ultimately finding success in running.

-Weekly training plan emails (a guide to your training week)

-Monthly Spotify playlists (to power your runs!)
